Colorful bathroom ideas - Help please.?
I want to redo my front bathroom. It's basically a guest bath/child's bath. Right now, the walls are a very light sage with eggshell trim, cream shower curtain, rug and accessories. I want to change it. I'm not afraid of color (my master bath has navy blue walls, silver accessories and a very tiny touch of yellow). I would like something that will work both as a child's bathroom and the main bath, so no kid's characters. Oh, it is a smallish bathroom as well. White appliances and chrome faucets. I'm having trouble coming up with a color for the walls, plus accessories that with coordinate. Any advice? Thanks.

One of my favorite color combinations is the sage green and cream that you presently have! So I am reluctant to suggest any changes... If your walls, rugs, and accessories are still in good shape, why not add an accent color to what you already have? I think certain shades of purple (deep, dark) or plum would go nicely with the green and cream. Try some color swatches and see what you think. Some towels, florals, framed prints with plums/purples would set your colors off nicely, and add a bit of drama and pizzazz. Since it is a guest bathroom, I would stay with basic, neutrals and avoid anything too sophisticated and "high maintenance." That way, it would still be appropriate for the children who will be using it. If you are set on changing the colors, why don't you look at some nice toiles (fabrics) for color combinations? For instance, I've seen yellow and blues/ reds and creams. black and whites, blues and whites, etc. Many of the toile fabrics depict animals and children, which would work well for the dual-purpose bath you mentioned.

Does guest bedroom need to match the "shared" bathroom with my daughter?
We recently painted my dtrs bedroom aqua blue and added zebra print bedding with accent pillows in bright colors of pink, lime, purple, and aqua. She shares a jack and jill bath with our guest bedroom. The bathroom is still painted a neutral tan. We added a zebra print shower curtain and towels in the aqua, pink, and green that match her room. Any ideas on how to coordinate the guest bedroom? Or does it really matter?

I'd pull one or two colors out of the daughters room to use in the guest room. For instance, using black and white in the guest room with green accents would look nice. That would kkep the room gender-friendly, so to speak. White walls, black & white bedding, green throw pillows and a green/black/white area rug. Same sewer smell coming from guest bathroom?
We changed out our old toilet about 1 year ago. We've noticed this smell that comes and goes. Very strong throughout house but originates in the guest bath. When you open the drain to the bathtub it is worse. We've even went as far as pulling the toilet and putting another NEW wax ring down, few weeks later it returns. It can go away on it's on and then return. We've had the septic tank emptied, nothing seems to work. ANY ideas would be greatly appreciated!! @gardenguy- That's the problem it is vented to outside. We have been in this house for 17 years. No problems until changed out toilet. We pulled toilet and put down new wax seal and still after a few weeks it comes back. Comes and goes. It is second bath, not used much. We tried running water in sink and tub to no avail. ??

The traps are probably drying out, can be caused by evaporation, but more often it is caused by improper pipe venting. (Not like fan vents, but plumbing vents that usually go out the roof.) If the vents are plugged then water siphons out of the traps when water flows down the drains. It will probably take a plumber with a pipe camera to trace the pipes. One preliminary check you could do to see if siphoning is the issue is when the bad odor is present push a wire down the sink and tub drain to see if water is still in the traps.
